Illinois Quick Hits: Feds arrest suspects, seize weapons in Chicago

(The Center Square) – U.S. Magistrate Judge Maria Valdez has granted a request by government attorneys and ordered two alleged Chicago street gang members to be detained pending trial on machine gun possession charges.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirsten Moran said Julian Torres, 19, and Brandon Osorio, 29, are members of the 31st and Morgan Satan’s Disciples.

Prosecutors said federal agents discovered 20 machine gun conversion devices, 10 handguns, a short-barrel rifle, ammunition and firearm accessories during a search of the suspects’ home.

ORLAND PARK MAN ACCUSED OF THREATS

Illinois State Police special agents have arrested an Orland Park man accused of threatening public officials.

ISP says Michael F. Henry, 67, made threats directed at Tinley Park Mayor Michael Glotz, Cook County Commissioner Sean Morrison, former Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau, Orland Park Trustee Cindy Nelson-Katsenes and a private citizen.
