Transformational speaker, award-winning author, and coach Kathi Sohn will be a featured guest on Where Science Meets Self-Care on the syndicated Brushwood Media Network, hosted by Ida Fanelli, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

During the broadcast, Sohn will dive into the core principles of her mentorship framework, Break the Cycle, Build a New Legacy™, sharing how parents—particularly mothers of teenagers—can dismantle hidden subconscious beliefs, release somatic trauma, and build lasting emotional connection within their families.

A Journey Rooted in Resilience and Public Service

Kathi Sohn’s unique perspective on generational healing comes backed by an extraordinary 36-year career inside the U.S. federal government and the Department of Defense. Holding a Master’s degree in National Security Policy Studies from the U.S. Naval War College—where she earned the McGinnis Family Award for Outstanding Performance—as well as a Master’s degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University, Sohn spent decades navigating high-stakes strategic environments.

Her true calling emerged following the passing of her husband, David William Sohn, in late 2019. David pioneered the Body Memory Process, a holistic methodology exploring how early childhood trauma and subconscious “childhood vows” manifest as physical chronic tension and behavioral limitations in adulthood.

Building upon David’s research and integrating her own personal healing journey, Sohn authored the award-winning book You Made It Up, Now Stop Believing It and established Body Memory Process, LLC and Cycle Breaker Pathways.

“Through the Body Memory Process, I uncovered and released my own deeply rooted childhood vows—including ‘I will hide’ and ‘It’s all my fault’—transforming a personal history of trauma into a legacy of power, healing, and leadership.”

Transforming Survival Reactivity into Family Connection

Sohn’s work bridges strategic conflict resolution. On Where Science Meets Self-Care, Sohn addresses how mothers navigating the stress of raising teenagers can step out of survival-mode reactivity and into emotional safety.

Key Highlights of the Methodology:

  • Identifying Childhood Vows: Uncovering early protective scripts (such as “I will hide”) formed during traumatic or low-touch early childhood experiences.
  • Moving Beyond Compliance: Shifting family dynamics away from rigid “good vs. bad” evaluations toward authentic connection, emotional autonomy, and practical solutions.
